Key Apple supplier Foxconn Technology Group has chosen Young Liu, the head of its semiconductor unit, to succeed founder Terry Gou as chairman.
The board of Hon Hai Precision, the Taiwan-listed flagship company, elected Mr Liu following the annual general meeting on Friday.
The change comes as Mr Gou, who has led the business for 45 years, is vying for nomination by the opposition Kuomintang as candidate in Taiwan's January 2020 presidential election.
