British drivers should limit their speed to 55mph on motorways and turn down their heating to help reduce dependence on Russian fuel, one of the UK’s most senior energy experts has proposed.
Lord Adair Turner, chair of the Energy Transitions Commission, a coalition of businesses and various global institutions, said consumers could help governments wean their countries off Russian oil and gas by taking simple steps to reduce demand.
