China has started international clinical trials for four Covid-19 vaccine candidates, the National Health Commission said on Monday.
Some of the phase-3 trials – with thousands of volunteers – are expected to complete their first round of vaccinations in early September, with preliminary data expected as early as November.
The NHC said the pandemic had been brought under control in China and the country no longer had enough ill people for large-scale clinical trials.
