Canada has arrested Huawei chief financial officer Wanzhou Meng after her extradition was sought by the United States.
A bail hearing for Ms Meng, who was arrested in Vancouver on Saturday, has been set for Friday, Canadian officials said. No more details could be provided after a publication ban was sought by Ms Meng, who is the daughter of Huawei's founder Ren Zhengfei.
The move comes against a backdrop of heightened tension over trade and technology between Beijing and Washington after US President Donald Trump and China’s President Xi Jinping agreed to a temporary truce to allow negotiators more time to work toward a deal.
