Activity in China’s services sector picked up in April with a slight acceleration in new business, according to an industry gauge.
The Caixin-Markit services purchasing managers index rose to 52.9 in April from the 2018 low of 52.3 in March. That kept the reading above the 50-point line separate expansion from contraction.
Improved market conditions, higher number of tourists and new product offerings supported sales during the period, the survey found.
