Donald Trump escalated the email hacking controversy in the US election yesterday when he urged Russia to track down and hand over tens of thousands of emails from Hillary Clinton’s private server which have yet to be released.
The Clinton campaign immediately accused Mr Trump of endangering national security and his comments were also criticised by Republicans.
“Russia, if you’re listening, I hope you’re able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing,” Mr Trump said at a press conference yesterday. “I think you will probably be rewarded mightily by our press.”
