Revisions to Japanese GDP failed to amend the narrative of an economy struggling to emerge from last year's recession.
New data shows the world's third largest economy expanded by just 0.4 per cent last quarter, versus an original estimate of 0.6 per cent.
The annualised quarter-on-quarter rate was just 1.5 per cent, down from a 2.2 per cent estimate earlier. Both measures missed forecasts.
