The Japanese earthquake and tsunami have barely dented the rapid global growth in manufacturing, a cluster of sector surveys from across the world demonstrated on Friday.
In the first purchasing managers’ indices of the manufacturing sector since the March 11 disaster, there was little sign that companies outside Japan were being held back by supply chain problems and a shortage of components.
Although the measures of manufacturing output strength slipped a little from February, they still indicated companies were raising output rapidly.
