Beijing has attacked a UN report suggesting that Chinese-made ammunition has been used in attacks on peacekeeping troops in Sudan’s war-torn region of Darfur.
Chinese officials said the findings of the expert panel were based on unreliable evidence and gave rise to false accusations.
The UN has no absolute arms embargo on Sudan but suppliers must obtain assurances from the Khartoum government that any weapons will not be used in Darfur, where seven years of war have claimed hundreds of thousands of lives.
