
Despite their soaring name, the Eagle Mountains in the Czech Republic are more like beautiful gentle hills. Or at least that is what I felt until I stepped on to the world’s longest suspension footbridge, took in the plunging view, and got hit by a strong gust of wind.
“Don’t worry, we only close it when the wind speed here reaches 140kph,” said Martin Palán, general manager of Dolní Morava, the mountain resort that has spent two years building the record-breaking bridge.
