The Trump administration will urge allies including the UK to help “shore up” supply chains for quantum computing, after a stand-off over implementing a bilateral technology deal.
At a meeting of the Quantum Development Group in London this week, a US delegation will push for closer co-operation to address vulnerabilities in areas such as semiconductor manufacturing and rare earths.
“There are critical nodes of a quantum supply chain that do come from Europe,” US chief technology officer Ethan Klein, who is co-leading the delegation, told the FT.
