Emirates reroutes flights after drone attack on Dubai’s airport

Flights from Manchester, Edinburgh and Dublin among those that returned to destinations on Monday

Emirates has been forced to reroute multiple flights after Dubai’s airport suspended operations for several hours on Monday following a drone attack.

Flights from Manchester, Edinburgh and Dublin were among those that had to return to their destinations early on Monday, after a drone strike that set a nearby fuel tank on fire. Other flights had been diverted to the city’s second passenger and cargo airport, Al Maktoum International.

Recovery in air travel across the region is being hampered by the conflict that is now in its third week.
