Solar power generator Pine Gate Renewables has filed for bankruptcy, as clean energy companies struggle to stay afloat amid President Donald Trump’s cuts to financial support for the sector.
The North Carolina-based company filed for Chapter 11 proceedings in Texas on Thursday. It listed assets and liabilities in the range of $1bn to $10bn apiece.
In a statement, the company said its lenders would purchase its assets, independent power producer platform and its development pipeline.
