UK right-wing voters are more anti-immigrant than Trump supporters, survey finds

Polling paints a stark picture of how immigration has helped to polarise Britain’s politics

Supporters of Britain’s two main right-wing political parties are significantly more anti-immigrant and opposed to racial diversity than those who back Donald Trump’s Republican party, according to polling comparing social and political attitudes in the US and UK.

Two-thirds of those who voted for either the Conservatives or Reform UK at the 2024 election said they were “uncomfortable” with hearing foreign languages in public — compared with less than half of those who said they would vote, or lean towards voting, for Trump.
