The US has struck two alleged drug-trafficking boats in the Pacific Ocean, expanding its military campaign beyond the Caribbean Sea.
The strikes, which took place on Tuesday and Wednesday, were announced in social media posts by US defence secretary Pete Hegseth on Wednesday.
They were the eighth and ninth strikes to be acknowledged by the Trump administration since it began its campaign against alleged drug smuggling boats, but were the first in the Pacific.
