Tether hires former head of Trump’s crypto advisory council

Bo Hines joins world’s biggest stablecoin issuer as strategic adviser

Tether, the world’s biggest stablecoin issuer, has hired the former head of US President Donald Trump’s crypto advisory council as it seeks to bolster its influence and expand in the country.

The firm, whose token is the world’s most traded cryptocurrency, has appointed Bo Hines as strategic adviser for digital assets and US strategy, it said on Tuesday.

Hines was hired by Trump as executive director of the White House Crypto Council in December. He has helped to forge close ties between Washington and the crypto industry, including pushing forward landmark laws providing a regulatory framework for stablecoins last month.
