Donald Trump slammed a federal judge presiding over Harvard University’s lawsuit to have billions of dollars in federal funding reinstated as a “TOTAL DISASTER”, in an escalation of his attacks against the Ivy League institution.
The American president called US District Judge Allison Burroughs “an automatic ‘loss’ for the People of our Country” in a post on Truth Social.
Harvard’s lawyers appeared in federal court on Monday morning as part of the university’s effort to restore the more than $2bn in funding frozen by the White House earlier this year. The case is one front in the battle the country’s universities are waging against Trump’s crackdown on elite higher education institutions.
