Northern Ireland’s unionists march into the annual commemorations of their most hallowed anniversary on Friday with challenges as tall as their traditional towering bonfires.

Parties in favour of remaining part of the UK emerged from the general election last week slightly ahead of nationalism in terms of vote share.
