Poland’s president and prime minister are set to jointly meet President Joe Biden in Washington in a rare show of unity as they press for more US support to contain further Russian aggression.
President Andrzej Duda and PM Donald Tusk have put aside their domestic differences to focus on the bigger threat to their country and European security and push for continued transatlantic support when they meet Biden at the White House on Tuesday.
“The leaders will reaffirm their unwavering support for Ukraine’s defence against Russia’s brutal war of conquest,” the White House said, noting the three leaders would co-ordinate ahead of a Nato summit in July, which will be held in Washington.
