North Korea expressed optimism at the outcome of the summit between Donald Trump and Kim Jong Un, a day after the country’s foreign minister lamented the sudden collapse of the talks which ended without a deal between the two leaders.
KCNA, the state news agency, described the Hanoi summit as “constructive” summit in Hanoi but did not mention that the talks were cut short without an agreement.
“The top leaders of the two countries appreciated that the second meeting in Hanoi offered an important occasion for deepening mutual respect and trust and putting the relations between the two countries on a new stage,” KCNA said.
