Profits at Chinese industrials fell for the second consecutive month in December, in the latest sign of headwinds facing the Chinese economy.
Industrial profits declined 1.9 per cent in December from a year earlier, National Bureau of Statistics data showed. The fall marked the second-straight monthly decline after November saw the first negative reading since December 2015.
The move comes in the wake of official data last week showing Chinese growth had slipped to the lowest annual rate in almost three decades.
