Singapore’s prime minister has apologised to the country for the extraordinary public dispute with his siblings, which has grown into a conflict over the integrity of the city-state’s administration.
Lee Hsien Loong, the premier and son of Singapore’s founding father Lee Kuan Yew, has been accused by his brother and sister of abusing his political power and seeking to use “the organs of state” against them.
In a statement issued late on Monday, the prime minister said: “I deeply regret that this dispute has affected Singapore’s reputation and Singaporeans’ confidence in the government.”
