Pernod Ricard, the French alcoholic drinks maker, said it remained upbeat about the Chinese market even after the company reported weaker-than-expected demand in recent months.
Sales in China by the maker of Absolut vodka and Mumm champagne have been affected by a government campaign cracking down on conspicuous consumption of luxury goods, as well as by a softening in macroeconomic growth.
But on Thursday, as it reported full-year results that were in line with expectations, the company said it expected sales in China to pick up again in the first half of the calendar year 2014.
