Volvo, the Swedish carmaker, is to recruit up to 1,200 people over the coming year to support an aggressive expansion of its product portfolio and its business in China.
The majority of the recruits will be engineers at its research and development department in Gothenburg, where the company is seeking to build expertise in electric cars.
The company described the recruitment drive as one of the biggest in its history.
