There were times last year when it looked like Nokia Siemens Networks was in terminal decline.
A senior figure at one of its parent groups recalls feeling “very concerned” that NSN was losing its edge as annual losses reached €1.6bn ($2bn) and the company was overtaken by Huawei of China as the world’s second-largest network equipment maker after Ericsson of Sweden.
A year later, executives at NSN and its Finnish-German parents say the gloom is starting to lift.
