Republicans in the House of Representatives grilled three former Twitter executives over the alleged censorship of news about Hunter Biden on Wednesday, as the party makes good on its pledge to investigate the US president’s son.
In a tense hearing before the House oversight committee, the former Twitter executives admitted that the company had “erred” in blocking news stories in 2020 from The New York Post about the content of a laptop belonging to Biden, which was found at a Delaware repair shop.
However, the executives denied repeated accusations from Republican lawmakers that their actions were taken due to pressure from US intelligence agencies or otherwise politically motivated.
