
Netflix on Thursday raised its revenue forecast for the rest of the year, thanks to a weakening US dollar and expected strong growth in advertising and new subscribers.
The stronger outlook came as the company said its net income rose 45 per cent in the second quarter from the year before to $3.1bn on revenue of $11bn. Earnings per share of $7.19 were up 47 per cent from a year ago and were higher than Wall Street had expected.
